February 2026 marked the arrival of a uniquely memorable Linkwood Distillery release for our Whisky Guild members.
Tasting Notes
Rich and inviting, with aromas of golden toffee, sun-dried dates, and stewed fruits. Subtle hints of oak and spice add depth without overpowering the sweetness.
Rich and oily in texture, it opens with a flash of sugary sherry before settling into deep notes of cooked raisins and bright fruit. Subtle hints of oak provide balance and structure.
Warm and smooth, with lingering flavors of chocolate, caramel, and baked apple. A few drops of water help unlock the full depth and complexity of this expression.

Based in Edinburgh, Ferg & Harris is a boutique independent bottler launched in 2022 by John Ferguson and Alex Harrison, the duo behind Young Spirits. Positioned as a luxury single-cask, single-malt brand, they specialize in pairing exceptional spirits with unique wood finishes. While their curated range is small, it is defined by uncompromising quality and a focus on creating truly distinctive drams.
12 Year Speyside Pedro Ximénez Sherry
This non-chill filtered single malt is bottled at a robust 55.7% ABV. Initially matured in ex-bourbon casks for 12 years, it was finished for an additional six months in first-fill Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry hogsheads, adding layers of rich, syrupy depth and a luscious dried-fruit character.

While officially an “undisclosed” Speyside malt, our partners at Truth Malters have confirmed this is a Linkwood, a distillery renowned for its elegance and complexity. With only 113 bottles produced, Alberta is likely the only market in the world to receive this specific cask. It’s a rare treat to showcase Linkwood, and a first for us to work with the Ferg & Harris team, making this an extraordinary release for whisky collectors and adventurous drinkers alike.
